Football Remembers- You Can Help

Across the weekend of 5-8 December clubs are being asked to commemorate and celebrate the spirit of the Christmas Truce football matches in 1914...

For all the matches taking place at all levels the players involved are asked to join together with the Match Officials in a pre-match group photograph.

Clubs are then asked to upload the photo via social media using the #FootballRemembers hashtag. All photos will be displayed on a special website

The photographs kick off "Football Remembers Week". This is a series of Christmas Truce events running from 5th December and being delivered by the Premier League, The FA and the Football League, in partnership with the British Council.

Clubs are also encouraged to promote these activities in any other way possible using their means of communication. Any match of any size and group can be uploaded.

The aim of the website is to act as a moment of national record of football in 2014, a century on from the First World War. The photos will be preserved for future generations in the digital archives of the British Library. This Moment in History is a celebration of peace and footballs part in this unique historical event.
