Army FA would like to congratulate all our affiliated match officials who have achieved promotions in 2022/23!
The FA Referee Promotion Scheme provides county officials with the opportunity to progress through the referee pathway, with the criteria required to fulfil each promotion stage outlined within the Referee Progression Pack designed by the Football Association.

Major Nigel Bamford, Army FA Referee Chair, said “2022/23 has been a very successful season for Army Referees new and old, we have seen 36 referee promotions across all levels of the game both in the men’s and women’s game. It’s always a pleasure to draft a congratulations letter to you and your respective COs to highlight the good work and dedication you have all showed this season resulting in the accolades of promotion.

A special mention goes out to Capt Steve Finch (Promotions) and Capt Richie Pickin (Observations) for the hard work in ensuring all packages have been completed and processed to allow these promotions to happen.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank ALL OF YOU for your continued support to the Army FA and look forward to seeing even more of you climbing the referee pyramid in 2023/24. Registration is now open, what are you waiting for……..
