Staff Appointments

There have been changes within the Army Football Association staff structure with the retirement of Major (Retd) Billy Thomson BEM after 21 years and who has been made a Life Vice President in appreciation of his contribution to the organisation. Stepping up to replace Billy as Secretary is Graham Brookland, who served as Assistant Secretary for 15 years. We are also delighted to formally welcome Major Steve Clout to the team as the new Assistant Secretary and Referees’ Secretary.

Steve, who joined the Territorial Army in 1986, has been involved within Army football for many years as Secretary of Army Reserve football and is also SO2 of Army Reserve sport. He is also a Level 6 Referee working towards level 5 this season. Steve forms part of a team of six with Steve Stone (Football Development Manager), Gill Jones (Accounts Officer/Website Administrator), Jenny Payne (Governance Officer/Designated Safeguarding Officer) and Kate O’Hara (Administration Officer).
