U23 v Navy2

Inter Services update

Read on for the latest Inter Service Competition News!

“The Under 23 Inter Services concluded in Aldershot as the Royal Navy defeated the Army 3-0 in a deserved victory to regain the trophy.

The competition commenced in Portsmouth with the Navy recovering from a two goal deficit to eventually win the match 3-2. The Army’s introduction to the tournament was at Cosford where they were hosted by the RAF. A tense, tempestuous affair saw six goals shared, two players (one from either side) dismissed and plenty of drama in an action packed encounter. It set up the finale in Aldershot nicely with the Army knowing that victory would see them retain the trophy. However an organised and solid Navy side gave few opportunities for the home side and there can be no complaints with the overall result. Congratulations to the Royal Navy on your success.

The main Inter  Services commence in March with both disciplines (Men and Women) currently held by the Army. Aldershot hosts the opening matches with the RAF the opponents. It all commences at the Aldershot Military Stadium on Wednesday March 20th for the Womens encounter (1500hrs). This will be followed by the Mens match at National League Aldershot Town FC (1900hrs).

The Army will conclude their involvement in the 2019 competition with the Womens match versus Royal Navy (Tue 02 April at HMS Temeraire, Portsmouth with a 1400hrs kick off. The following evening (3rd) the corresponding mens match will be held at English Football League Yeovil Town with a 1900hrs kick off.”
