Appointments Confirmed for Army Womens Development Team

We are delighted to announce confirmation of the following management appointments for the Army Womens Football Development Team (Amazons).

After an extensive and impressive interview process with a high quality of candidate SSgt Ryan McDowell AGC (SPS) has been appointed to the role of Head Coach. Experienced within the Women’s game Ryan was the Head Coach of the Adjutant General Corps (AGC) between 2011 and 2018. During this period his team won the Corps League twice and remained unbeaten in consecutive seasons. In addition they also won the Edwards Challenge Cup and End of Season Tournament twice.

Joining Ryan as Deputy Head Coach is Sgt (SI) Yvette Kemp (RAPTC). An experienced Physical Training Instructor Yvette also has extensive experience since joining the Army in 2008. She represented the main Army Women's team between 2009 and 2016. In addition she has featured for Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) for over a decade. She also played for Gloucester City for many years and is also an Army FA Ambassador.

 

The Army Womens Development Team was initiated last season and enjoyed a successful pilot season. It is now endorsed as an important part of the Womens structure by the Board of Trustees.
