Army FA Seminar 2018

Army FA Seminar 2018

The inaugural Army FA Seminar formed part of a busy two days at St Georges Park.

The purpose of the seminar was to provide over 60 delegates an overview of the current status of Army Football, its aims and intentions moving forward with a particular focus on recognising volunteer work.

Chairman Major General Mitch Mitchell commenced proceedings with an opening address. This was followed by Vice Chairman Colonel Richard Hayhurst and Secretary Major Billy Thomson.

A focus on participation featured presentations on Men, Women and Reserve football from Trustees Colonel Colin Francis, Colonel Ash Boreham and Colonel Dave Jones. Kick It Out Professional Players Engagement Manager Paul Mortimer provided an enlightening presentation on the constant battle with equality and diversity within the game.

Former European Cup winner and Nottingham Forest legend John McGovern was our guest for the day too and presented medals at the Men and Women Cup Finals in the afternoon.

Special emphasis was also provided for the forthcoming Games of Remembrance matches being played on Thursday 8 November in nearby Nottingham.

The occasion was seemed successful and we are grateful to our hosts at St Georges Park for helping it a productive occasion.
