17 candidates all completed the six initial training days which introduced them to coaching methods that utilised the application of the principles of attack and defence. The candidates were taught how to employ key factors when coaching techniques and how to plan a session using technical, skills and small sided game environments.
Various theory and practical modules were delivered to the candidates over the six days with two opportunities for the coaches themselves to consolidate some of their new knowledge by having a go themselves.
The candidates feedback was very positive but they commented on the fact it was a big step up from the Level 1 course.
The coaches will now return for 2 continuation days before being assessed for the Level 2 Coaching badge later in the year.
