The 2023 Army Men's Sixes were staged at the home of Northern Premier League East Division Grantham Town Football Club this week.

Approximately 180 soldiers were involved throughout the day including a team of officials being mentored whilst attending the Army FA Referees’ course.

In total 59 matches were played with 182 goals scored. 5 FS Bn REME reached the final after topping Group 1 with a faultless record and then defeating 32 Engineer Regiment 3-2 in the semi-final. 1 Mercian also reached the final after a penalty shoot-out success versus 1 Regiment RLC after the match itself ended in a goal less draw.

However, the final saw 5 FS Bn REME’s first defeat of the day with 1 Mercian recording a 3-0 success to lift the trophy.

Army Trustee Major Nigel Bamford presented the Trophy to the winning captain of 1 Mercian.
