The Army FA is delighted to announce the appointment of Capt Jimmy Blair as the new Head Coach of the Men’s representative team with immediate effect. A qualified UEFA B and FA Youth Award licenced coach Jimmy led the Infantry to their first Massey Trophy title in 17 years with a 100% record during the Covid-19 interrupted 2020/21 season. Indeed, over the course of the past two campaigns Infantry won 11 of 14 matches completed.

Jimmy replaces Major Sean Birchnall who stepped down as Head Coach earlier this summer upon leaving the Army. 

The 2022 Inter Service campaign will see the Army entertain RAF at Aldershot Town FC on Wednesday 23 March before the away match v Royal Navy the following week (30 March).

The Army FA welcomes Jimmy to the role and looks forward to working with him.
