RBL POPPY APPEAL

Remote Remembrance 2020

RBL CALL ON NATION TO OBSERVE REMOTE REMEMBRANCE THIS WEEKEND

Remembrance 2020. Now that most of us are no longer able to take part in Remembrance events, the Legion is asking us all to play our part from home by participating in personal and remote acts of Remembrance. This includes standing on our doorstep during the Two Minute Silence, displaying a downloadable or homemade poppy in our windows, tuning into the BFBS Remembrance Special and watching the service at the Cenotaph on BBC One. Most of the Fields of Remembrance that usually take place across the UK have also been cancelled, and instead the Legion has a virtual Field of Remembrance on its website for people to make and view tributes online.

Urgent Poppy Appeal Support. The RBL have issued an urgent plea for people to donate to the Poppy Appeal online this year. As millions of us across the UK are now unable to leave our homes to find a poppy, and face to face collections are cancelled due to the lockdown, the RBL are urging people to make an online donation and download a poppy to display in our windows. This is the first time in the Poppy Appeal’s 100 year history that face to face collections will not go ahead.
