Congratulations to the Army Men who retained the Inter Services Constantinople Cup with a brace from LCpl Callum Wilkinson (RLC) confirmed a 2-1 success at the Aldershot Military Stadium followed up by a 4-0 victory versus Royal Navy at Yeovil Town FC courtesy of goals from LCpl Luke Noble (Royal Signals), LBdr Tom Broadbent (RA), Spr Dan Stoneman (RE) and LCpl Kyle Cassell (AAC). After six years of domination, and despite remaining unbeaten in the Inter Services since 2010, the Army Women relinquished the Inter Services crown succumbing to RAF who won the competition courtesy of scoring two goals to the Army’s one. All three matches were drawn. The Royal Navy deservedly won the mens Under 23 competition with two convincing performances in their category.

Army Exit Aldershot DFA Cup

The Army exited the Aldershot DFA Cup at the semi final stage last week losing 3-0 to Southern League Central Division Fleet Town.

Southern Counties Cup Final (Men)

The Army will play Amateur FA in the final of the Southern Counties Cup on Wednesday .

Southern Counties Cup (Women)

The final match of the Southern Counties Cup competition will see the Army Women entertain Sussex Women at the Aldershot Military Stadium on Thursday 20th April with a 1945hrs kick off. The Army need to win the match to lift the trophy. The Army enter the match knowing that victory will secure the championship whilst Sussex will require a draw.

Reserve Women Win

The Army Reserve Women team recorded an 8-0 victory at the Aldershot Military Stadium earlier this month versus Horsham.


County Cup Finals Day

The 117th Army Challenge Cup Final (sponsored by Towergate Insurance) will be played on Wednesday 26th April at the Aldershot Military Stadium as part of Army County Cup Finals Day. Kick off will be 1800hrs. 1 Yorkshire Regiment, last season’s finalists, will meet the 2015 finalists 30 Signal Regiment. Both teams were defeated by 7 Regiment RLC.


Proceedings commence at 1500hrs when the Minor Units Cup Final will feature 5 Regiment AAC and 1 Regiment AAC.


There will be music on the day from the Band of the Army Air Corps. Admission is free. Please help spread the word and distribute the attached poster as widely as possible.


Army Reserve Challenge Cup

The 86th Final of the Army Reserve Challenge Cup will take place on Saturday 22nd April as 152 (NI) Regiment RLC play 154 (Scottish) Regiment RLC at the Aldershot Military Stadium. Kick off will be 1400hrs.


The inaugural Army FA Womens Cup Finals Day proved a huge success at the Aldershot Military Stadium on Wednesday 5th April. Commander Home Command Lt General James Bashall CBE was in attendance as the Edwards Corps Challenge Cup was presented to the AGC who defeated AMS 3-2. The goal scorers were Cpl Natasha Gratton, LCpl Olivia Dixon, and LCpl Abi Hart. The match was refereed by UEFA female official Almira Spahic who is in the Bosnian Army having graduated at RMA Sandhurst. Earlier in the day UAV Regiment defeated DMG North 3-2 in the Inter Unit Final.

UK North Womens Cup Final

The inaugural UK North Womens Cup Final was held in Catterick last month. Current league leaders DMG (N) took on 6 Regiment RLC. In the best match witnessed since inter unit womens football commenced in the north of England in 2015 6 Regiment won the final with a 3-2 victory. Pte Peplow, who has also completed her basic referees course with the Army, was awarded player of the match.

Cpl Trask has been a distinguished Army official who started refereeing in 1992, a year after he joined the Army. Now a Reservist with 167 Catering Support Regiment he will be refereeing for the final time at the Army Reserve Cup Final at the age of 51.

World Masters Games

The 9th World Masters Games (WMG) takes place in Auckland, New Zealand over 10 days between 21- 30 April 2017. This is the largest multi discipline sports event with around 25,000 competitors from 100 countries competing in 28 sports and 45 disciplines.  It is recognized by the International Olympic Committee.  The event is held every 4 years.

A contingent of 60 competitors will be representing the British Army including an Army Masters football team. All Army Football matches are being played at QBE Stadium, north of Auckland centre.  Initial round matches are scheduled for Sat 22 Apr 1915hrs, Mon 24 Apr 1130hrs, Thur 27 Apr 0900hrs. Semi Finals on 28 Apr and Finals on Sat 29 Apr.
