Coach Education

Introduction to Coach Education

"If You always do the things you've always
done, you will always be where you are now"

Good coaching is the backbone of successful teams at all levels. Most players and people working with teams have a good knowledge of the game, however the ability to deliver that knowledge to players in an effective, progressive and structured manner is the difference between a coaching session and a practice. Completing a coaching course will facilitate your ability to understand the methodology and technical detail required to be a teacher of the game. Joining the Army FA Coaches Association will ensure you maintain an up to date knowledge of events and changes occurring in the game, which will enhance you continued personal development as a coach. Ideally I would like all our coaches within the Army to be qualified. I also feel it is important that we have coaches qualified at the appropriate level in the relevant jobs:

* Unit Coaches - Level 2
* Corps Coaches - Level 2 Minimum
* Army Coaches - UEFA B Licence minimum

There is a pathway for talented Coaches to work their way to the pinnacle of Army Coaching - The Senior Coach, Women's Coach, Development Squad Coach, Youth Coach or for Civilians to do likewise within their County Organisation.

Other opportunities in Coach Education are available to Level 2, 3 & 4 Coaches. Appropriately qualified and skilled Coaches can be mentored to deliver Level 1 and 2 Coach Education Courses on behalf of the Army or other County FA's.

The Army FA is willing to financially assist and mentor Military B Licence Coaches towards A Licence qualification. Coaches showing the commitment and talent to achieve this level of qualification will be identified and mentored via the Army Coaches Association.

Opportunities to gain UEFA recognised qualifications are available to everyone in either Coaching or The Treatment and Management of Injuries.
